Scripts

Released versions of Audacity do not yet support scripting.
However, a more limited feature available in beta versions of Audacity allows a pre-defined chain of effects to be run on multiple files or on the current project. Follow the link to Batch Processing to find out how to use it.
AudaRemote is an open source Windows utility with an easy interface that will start and stop recording automatically in Audacity 1.2.x, but does not work in 1.3.x.
Developers can use an experimental version of scripting but currently need to be prepared to build the code from SVN source themselves.
