Peter 18Jul16: This is a page to act as a workbench for my testing on W10 and macOS.

Some DEVEL FIXMADE bugs get "parked" by me as they involve downloading plug-ins from sites I know nothing about - I am not prepared to risk that.

See the Talk page for bugs resolved in earlier releases.

Windows 7 - will disappear in early 2020 when W7 becomes EOL

  • P5 964 - Windows 7: Support data generated if quitting using task manager when "About Audacity" is open. This is now marked CLOSED/WONTFIX


Re-opened

  • P5 1799 - Un-muting with a single track unnecessarily activates the Solo button - original bug ok on Mac, BUT closely related issue still occurs
  • P4 1806 - Extreme negative settings in Change Tempo cause an "apparent" hang/freeze
  • P4 534 - Page Up/Page Down when slider focused also scrolls the project. looks OK on W10 but iffy on Mac
  • P2 1763 - Clicks on starting/stopping playback. I get stop clicks with a sine tone
  • P2 2101 - Mac recovery file can be corrupted before recovery when switching between 32 and 64 bit builds
  • P1 2134 - Audacity silently fails to launch when audacity.cfg is locked read-only
  • P1 2135 - Audacity crashes if launched with a locked pluginregistry.cfg file
  • P1 2142 - Typing within a label track selected does not create a label.


Pending

  • P4 2106 - Mac build for one architecture can't recover autosave files made by build for the other


Devel Fix-Made

  • P4 2148 - AUD-GET-INFO command fails if data contains backslash

Parked - because I don't have the wherewithal to test these

  • P4 2136 - GetInfo: localization creates invalid JSON worksforme on W10 and Mac - but Steve would prefer it tested in a machine whose locale uses comma separator


To be tested

  • P3 1892 - Mac accessibility: VoiceOver does not read the categories in Preferences I've asked David Bailes to test this

  • P3 461 - MIDI or Allegro export filter does not enforce output format cross-platform - looks ok for me on w10, Step 1 OK on Mac but not Step 2

  • P1 2129 - Preview button in effects yields Error Opening Sound Device
  • P1 2141 - Tabbing between labels now only works if the label track is selected
  • P1 2140 - Setting for preference for track name displayed as overlay is ignored
  • P4 496 - Modifier keys ignored when focus is on time box in the Selection Toolbar
  • P1 2127 - Track deletion while in Record/Pause state crashes Audacity
  • P1 2145 - Crash ctrl-clicking on play at speed button - tested ok on Mac by Cliff
  • P2 2146 - Keyboard preferences: mouse can select wrong item - tested ok on Mac by Cliff
