Timeline

  • 23rd January 2016. 2.1.3 RM yet to be announced.
  • 30 June 2016. 2.1.3 RM (James) announced.
  • July - Bug fixing and other development.

Tentative Schedule

  • 7th August - User interface for Scrubbing/Seeking bar for 2.1.3 no longer in flux.
Peter 18Jul16: we also need to finalize the form of the pinned head button.
  • August - Pulse Audio fix. Disk Space fix. Other fixes.
  • 23rd August - Preparations (code/manual) for kick-the tyres release completed. One week for refining-ktt-planning/last-minute-fixes.
  • 31st August - Kick-the-tyres test release released, especially of PULSE audio changes. 1 week for wider testing and feedback.
  • 12th September. Actual freeze. Translation begins (1 week allowed)
  • 22nd September RC1
  • 30th September Release 2.1.3.

Headline Features

  • Extensive work to eliminate memory leaks
  • Upgrade PortAudio to r1966.
  • Windows 10 now supported. There should be no "Internal PortAudio Error" and failure to find any devices as long as the built-in audio devices are enabled.
  • (MacOS) We now support Trackpad two-finger horizontal scroll without SHIFT key and pinch and expand to zoom at the pointer.
Gale 28Jul16: Does the above work on the surface of Magic Mouse (or is it meant to)?
  • Peter 29Jul16: With the control surface of Magic Mouse I can control scrolling with wiping a single finger across the surface (a two finger wipe slides between desktop and a tools widow: calculator, clock, calendar & weather). Pinching and spreading does nothing on the Magic Mouse surface. CMD+vertical wipe does what ctrl-mousewheel does on my W10 PC, i.e. zooms
    • Gale 30Jul16: Thanks, Peter. So does the single finger swipe on the surface work without modifier key, i.e. just move the single finger up/down to scroll vertically, and move the finger left/right to scroll horizontally?
