This locked page is for the use of sysops to transfer feature requests from the Audacity Forum and other sources. They will be reviewed and where appropriate transferred to the Wiki Feature Requests page.
For this page, it is best not to summarise, but paste in verbatim, so the context of the suggestion can be understood.

Not yet reviewed

  • Adding a silence at the end of a set of tracks with batch processing. GA wrote: Unfortunately in Audacity 1.3's "Batch Chain" feature there is no way to select part of or a point in a track. Were you wanting to add silence to the start, that's fairly quick to do without a chain, because there is a command to align the start of the tracks together.
  • WavPack (www.wavpack.com) compression option - for both import and export. GA wrote: 1.3.6 when it comes out should be able to import Wavpack, if you install the optional FFmpeg library, but not export it, because FFmpeg doesn't.

Reviewed but not added - intending to delete

These pending FRs were posted here but on review, appear to be inappropriate for the reasons stated (for example, the Beta already supports this feature). Unless reasons for adding them/ more explanations of usefulness/purpose are given, they will be deleted.

  • Ability to output to file/label the time location of the cursor.
Gale: You can export label points (and regions in Beta) to a text file.
  • An automated way to perform actions/effects on labeled sections (tracks) individually, rather than working a track at a time.
Gale: In Beta you can perform actions on regions (or all) of selected tracks by using up/down arrow and ENTER to toggle selection of the tracks. In Stable, it's done by holding SHIFT while clicking in the Track Panels.
