Restoring pages after spam

This wiki has suffered spam attacks now and then. If it happens again, you may aid restoring it by following the instructions at the Removing Spam page.

Garage Band

The write up for Garage Band is great, is there anything like it for Audacity?

PlugIn / plug-in

The front page has instances of both. I don't really care which is deemed canonical, but I was trying to search the page for instances of plugin/plug-in so consistency would be a good thing. Perhaps PlugIn was written in camel case out of habit from other wiki systems, which treat those as WikiWords? But MediaWiki doesn't care, so just pick one and standardize it. Undo Silence

Hi! We have searched for a way to undo the silencing effect. The only thing we've discovered so far is to use the undo option or reimport the file. Is there a simpler way?

vandalism and links without spaces

Is it possible to block regular vandals? It's not good to go two days with porn-spam on the front page. Also, some of the links on the main page don't contain fingerspaces. Should they be added? Tommylommykins 10:11, 9 November 2006 (PST)

removing vocals how to

I don't remember how to remove vocals using audacity. Memory loss could be age related or I killed those brain cells drinking! I seem to remember creating some OK tracks for kareoke. Anybody out there can give me a tip? (Besides laying off the booze!)

Split the stereo track and change them both to mono. Choose the right (Bottom) track. Invert the track. You have KARAOKE!

Minor facelift

Just did a minor facelift on the Main Page. I needs a lot more work still!

Orphaned pages

There are really a lot of orphaned pages. The only ways to get to these pages is by hitting the "Random page" link in the navigation bar, by hitting "Special pages" then "Orphaned pages" or by seeing them in the "Recent changes" list soon after they've been made. Someone in charge of the wiki might want to check these pages and either delete them or create links where they would be appropriate.

(That really was the long way of saying that people really aren't going to see those pages)

You will also find that users have created pages for themselves which is redundant. We have user pages that are linked when using our signature with 3 or 4 tilde like this ~~~~

exporting WAV files

how can I adjust the pause at the start of a WAV file I export? - it seems to be set at 2 seconds but I can't see how to adjust it.

WMA importing

How do you import WMA files in normal audacity? When it reccomends i import it as raw then all I get is white noise If you cant import WMA I reccomend that you put it on a future version.

Template for suggesting deletes

A "template" to simplify suggestions for deletion has been added. It can be used by anyone honestly thinking that a page could/should be deleted (because it's outdated, irrelevant, superseded, inappropriate, spammed or whatever). Instructions for using it can be found at the template definition page. Pages suggested for deletion will be found by going to the Category:Candidates for deletion page (or first Special:Categories page, then selecting Candidates for deletion).

  • Each page suggested for deletion must have a reason stated at its accompanying talk page, otherwise the deletion tag should be removed.
  • Anyone may raise objections against deletion, again by discussion at the talk page.
  • Pages should not be deleted until at least two weeks after the last discussion entry, and only if reasonable concensus has been reached. (Spammed or otherwise obviously deletable pages may go sooner!)
