The Path Template is intended to emphasize the text of absolute and relative file paths in operating systems. It highlights the path by using brown font and increasing the letter and word spacing slightly compared to the unformatted text on the page.

NOTE: This template should be used only for file paths. Paths through operating system dialogues should be highlighted with Template:Menu. Further templates are available for other uses, see Templates.

Usage of Template Path:

{{path|text to be formatted}}

For example, typing this:

Select path: {{path|C:\Windows\Data Files\Audio}}

will cause the following to be displayed:

Select path: C:\Windows\Data Files\Audio

Ignore the following, it's only a representation of formatting and a parameter dummy.
