Translating the Manual
|Our main focus is translating Audacity itself
The Audacity manual is maintained online in a wiki. To get an account on the wiki, send an email to the audacity translators email list.
It is a huge amount of work to translate the manual. Trying to translate the whole manual is probably too much. We should choose the parts of the manual that make the most difference to users.
- The most valuable part of the manual to translate is the FAQ.
- The next most valuable is the Tour Guide as it gives an overview of what Audacity can do.
Translating the FAQ from the manual is useful, because when we get foreign language questions that are in the FAQ we can point those users to it. It all helps, but is less important than translating the .pot file for Audacity itself.
