Q: Does Audacity use iTunes to convert audio files (songs) from LP's, cassette tapes, and/or CD's?
Gale 25Feb10: If you are on a Mac using the current Audacity Beta (1.3.11), Audacity uses Apple's QuickTime framework to import pre-existing M4A, MP4 and MOV files. Audacity 1.3.11 can use FFmpeg (nothing to do with Apple) to export to M4A format.
But you don't need to export from Audacity as M4A to put your LP/tape recordings into iTunes. To import CD's into Audacity, see How to import CDs. To export to iTunes, see Exporting your Audacity Project into iTunes and iPod.
If you need further help with using Audacity, please ask on our Forum. The Wiki isn't set up to handle a lot of questions and answers.
