The only reason I had not protected it was to encourage users to consider linking to an important new page on the home page, on the other hand, we don't want the home page to get bloated with minor links. So yes I'll protect the home page and the main page redirect (I'm still trying to get the link in "Navigation" changed to "Home Page", but the redirect is probably needed as "Main Page" often appears in search results). I will create a section within [[Talk:Audacity Wiki Home Page]] for users to request edits to the "Home Page".
