Community
This page summarises the various online resources available to our community. These let you find other people and contribute to Audacity in various ways.
|
- Support to users, via dedicated people who help out on the forum.
- QA people, who test early versions of Audacity, log and manage bugs, report support issues back to developers.
- Translators who translate into the many languages.
- Writers who write documentation, the manual and wiki, update the websites and post on social media.
We would like to help people using Audacity to share experience, and are very interested in:
- Sharing lesson plans using Audacity, e.g. for teaching physics, languages and for project based learning.
- Sharing experience in using Audacity in podcasting, music production and DJing.
We encourage people wanting to network in this way to post to the forums. At the Audacity Unconference 2014 as well as all the active Audacity developers and most of the people who support Audacity, we had users with interests including teaching, making exhibits for science museums, DJing, radio production, psychology/paranormal research and hypnotherapy. Some of the best sessions at the Unconference were their sharing of top tips for using Audacity and sharing of wish lists for future development. As a result of the success of the conference we realized we want to help the community of users with shared interests to network, provided they want to. There are millions of users worldwide, with a wide range of interests and uses. So if you want to find other users using Audacity for similar purposes, try the Audacity Forum. The Forum is there for more than just 'How do I?' questions.

Audacity Forum | Audacity Forum has many sub-forums, including ones for the current Audacity and the legacy versions, and for recording issues and programming and development. It's the best place to ask questions and get help.
We welcome suggestions for sub-forums for particular uses of Audacity. |
Other Community Resources
There are other places below where information on Audacity is shared. There is a small group of people helping with Audacity working on the website, the Manual, the Wiki, on translation, on developing Audacity, and on tracking bugs, feature requests and other issues. We also very occasionally meet up. The most recent and largest meet up was at an unconference in 2014. The one before that was in 2008. We welcome feedback and help with improving these resources.
